5This is a picture taken in Story City of a school on June 7, 1886. As of July 30th, 2005 at Story City's 150 year celebration, I now know this school was known as the Story City Public School. Around 1920 or 1922, it was torn down and the kids moved to a new school. We believe the upper floor housed the high school with younger grades on the lower level. This school was located on Elm and Story Street. |

As you can see, this is one of Martin's Story City shots he did on the day before July 4, back in 1886. Evidently, Story City started its Independence Day celebration a day early. To date, I have no more information on this parade. |
