This is a picture taken in Story City of a school on June 7, 1886. As of July 30th, 2005 at Story City's 150 year celebration, I now know this school was known as the Story City Public School. Around 1920 or 1922, it was torn down and the kids moved to a new school. We believe the upper floor housed the high school with younger grades on the lower level. This school was located on Elm and Story Street.

As you can see, this is one of Martin's Story City shots he did on the day before July 4, back in 1886. Evidently, Story City started its Independence Day celebration a day early. To date, I have no more information on this parade.
